The pop-up & event playbook

How to staff, light, charge, and book private events that turn one walk-up into 30 referrals.

The set-up

A clean six-foot table with a soft white cloth, two ring lights at 45-degree angles, a velvet display tray for charms, and a single mirror angled toward the client. Keep it minimal — clients are looking at jewelry, not at your sign.

The flow

  • Greet, explain, size — under two minutes.
  • Charm selection — one minute.
  • Weld — one minute.
  • Aftercare + photo + payment — three minutes.
  • Total: about eight minutes per client. Bank on six per hour with one artist.

Booking private events

Lead with a flat $500 minimum, two-hour window, hosts pay for the first piece per guest. This nearly always doubles your event-day take versus charging à la carte, and the host has skin in the game to fill the room.
